I inherited a Balda Soida III 6x6 folder with a Schneider Kreuznach 80mmf/2.8 lens from the early 1950s but the shutter setting is so tight I'm afraid to break it.the shutter is currently set to 1s and works well at that setting with no chance to chose any other speed. Anybody knows of a reliable repair source for this?

I don't know if Ken Ruth of Photography on Bald Mountain (www.baldmtn.com) does these kinds of repairs but, since he works on just about anything (especially old), I wouldn't doubt that he could do it. Give him a call. He might request that you send the camera in for a valid estimate. I will warn you, though, that he's a very popular repairman in high demand. It took about 6 months for me to get my Super Ikonta III back. Fixed perfect!! Highly recommended.

Ken Ruth does great work and is a really nice guy, but it took 14 months to repair my Kodak Medalist.
