Legendary lens from the Zenit factory.
I bought this new and it still looks new. I even have the box and paperwork!
Made in 2018, this is the latest iteration of the venerable lens, with all the improved optics and multi-coatings and stuff.
All-metal barrel, smooth focusing and Leica-like aperture stops (which can be disabled if you like).

Oh, and did I mention the creamiest bokeh this side of Moscow?
Smooth tones, ideal for portraits, fantastic transitions to OOF areas, and if the stars align, you'll also get some mild Petzval-like swirls.

I used this on my GFX, and it covers nicely. Anything smaller, like 35mm/FF DSLR, is what this lens was made for.

Thank you. The GFX is really a huge, empty palette, and the kind of images you end up with are mostly a result of the lens used.
I find no other camera lends itself as well to integrating older, manual-focus lenses, and showing off their best qualities, as does the GFX.
So what you're seeing here is the Helios in all its glory. Using a GF lens would have looked quite different.

I'm curious about this portrait- did you have the GFX set to some film emulation mode for that image? I know fuji is fond of incorporating film emulations at the cost of their own film emulsions.
(can't pass up the opportunnity to take a mild swipe at them  )

No, I use the simulations sometimes, and only for color.
This time I made basic adjustments then switched to Silver Efex, used a preset and tweaked that slightly. Then toned in LR.
About 5 minutes in all.
GFX files need very little enhancement.
I know, shame about their film division.
