Great little system, good for his-res scans and quick & dirty scans on the fly.
The 4990 works perfectly, the exterior is scratched and scuffed. Both glass surfaces are clean, no scratches or fog.
I don't have any film holders, I just scan directly on the bed: 35mm, 645, 6x6, 6x7, 4x5 and 8x10 have all been scanned on this machine.
I cut a film guide myself. Everything works great, zero issues.
You're not missing out by not having the holders or the original film guide. I've made a few hundred scans on this machine, and every scan is sharp.
The 4990 shows no sign of slowing down.

The Mac mini 3,1 is likewise in great working condition, and in fine physical condition.
It runs on Leopard OSX, and I've installed Epson Scan. And that's it.
It can run internet and other stuff but I use it only for scanning.

Dell monitor is older but works perfectly, no issues. It's a 24" (diagonal) monitor, perfect for this scanner.
The whole system is compact, leaves a small footprint on your desk and operates flawlessly.
Another great thing about this system is that it's mostly wireless, except the scanner of course.

Besides the above, I'm including:
Mac VGA adapter
Mac wireless keyboard
Microsoft wireless ergonomic mouse
32GB SSD - I scan directly to this SSD and then transfer images to my regular computer
Two dust catcher rollers, great for keeping film clean before scanning

Price is $450 USD / $610 CAD. This includes shipping to CONUS/Canada.
Also possible: pick-up in person in Ottawa, or I can meet in Montreal.
PayPal preferred, I'll cover the fees.

Happy to answer any questions.

Now offering shipping via UPS. Most places in the US and Canada have a 2-4 day transit time.
$400 USD / $545 CAD including shipping to CONUS and Canada (Alaska, Hawaii, Yukon and NWT would cost extra).

Some nibbles, but no one jumping in yet.
Just want to add that I've owned the Epson 4870, 750 and 750 Pro with wet scanning holder.
My favorite Epson scanner, by far, has been the 4990. And this one seems to have been set correctly at the factory as it's sharp throughout its range, whether you're scanning 35, 120 or sheet film. Always sharp.
An excellent turnkey system, easy to learn if you've never scanned before, and you can up and running within 30 minutes of opening the box.
I'm available for any scanner-related questions, in case anyone is a bit nervous about using this kind of system.

I also have the Epson 4990 and agree with Ari. It is a fine machine that I have used for at least 15 years (So long I can't remember when I bought it) I do recommend the film holders so who ever buys it should be on the lookout for the holders. They should be easy to find as this machine has been around for a long time.

Thank you, David.
The 4990 is indeed built like a tank, and seems tougher, better-built than later Epson models.

Third-party holders are available on eBay, from 35mm up to 4x5, and for far less than original Epsons, which may be harder to find.

One-stop shopping! Plug 'n' play! Turnkey solution!
Other clichés suggesting ease of use and convenience!

Seriously, you just need to plug this in and start scanning.
I used 2400 dpi for my most important important 4x5 and 8x10 images, a wee bit higher for medium-format scans.
Normally, I'd scan everything at 1200 dpi, print it onto 8x10 and make enlargements if desired or needed.
