What we have here, Ladies and Germs, is perhaps the prettiest 35mm SLR camera ever created. It definitely is the nicest looking camera that I happen to be selling at this exact moment.
The Minolta SR1s. I'll let that sink in for a moment. Yes, the S, wait, I mean 's' model. Unlike the pedestrian SR1, this one (geddit!) has an extra letter in its name, and an extra shutter speed on its dial. Yup, this puppy rocks a 1/1000 top end. Don't believe me? Look at the pics.

I think by now you know I take these ads very seriously. And I am not joking when I took this camera to Steve's Camera Repair (Culver CIty) when I first got it for them to give it a once over. The white guy with the beard (sorry, forget his name) exclaimed it was the cleanest one he had ever seen. Yea verily, this one really looks like it came from a time capsule. Except because I've been using it you don't have to worry about besmirching it. I've already smirched its bees.

Mechanically zero issues. Needs nothing. Viewfinder is clean and lovely. Comes with Minolta 55 1.7 and 35 2.8 lenses in similar condition with matching OEM lens hoods. Which are the super nice felt lined jobbies.
Cosmetically? Puh-leeze just look at it. It's like staring into the sun except without losing your sight causing you to walk into traffic.
I hate to say "like new" but you be the judge.

SR1s + 55 1.7 + 35 2.8 with matching hoods and the lower half of the ever ready case. $150 +$15.50 USPS flat rate mid size box. It's more expensive than those rando Excellent++++++ beaters on ebay, because just look at it.

PEACE!

That camera is beautiful. Must have been a separate division that made the accessory light meter, God awful ugly.

It is Worthy. I'm sure as you've noted, it's one of nicest out there.

Arrrggg! Go away evil man! Do you have a camera mine in the back yard?

From what I understand, the CEO let his wife's cousin Bif design it. As a favour to her as Bif was having trouble finding work.

I am interested in the camera, but as a long-time Pentax user, I am ignorant of all things Minolta. What I need to know is more about Minolta lens mounts. Is there a good selection of Minolta lenses that will fit this SR1s? Has Minolta made lenses in other other mounts that will not work? I would hope for wide open viewing and focusing, stopping down only at the moment of exposure.

Normally I would do the research on my own, but in the time it takes me to do that, it seems like the cameras get sold.

I just sold an SR1 with the meter...sure it was an oddball but so weird you just loved it. Or maybe that was just me.

This is a *really* nice kit for an equally nice price. I'm a big convert to the Minolta Gang after seeing what their lenses can do. This will make somebody very happy.

Almost EVERYTHING you wanted to know about (older) Minoltas but were afraid to ask...

"Minolta produced an extensive array of lenses for the manual focus SLR system, and thankfully, given the lens mount remained the same throughout the history of the company the lenses from any era will mount onto all manual focus bodies, with varying degrees of functionality. "

Thanks! Sounds good, but it is that "with varying degrees of functionality" that I am wondering about. I can get by without a meter, but I don't think I would be happy with using a camera that does not show me a wide open view even when the aperture is set to f/8 or 11. Can someone confirm that this Minolta SR1S will work that way with later MC and MD series lenses?

The lenses shown here are auto diaphragm, so you focus wide open. Lens stops down when shutter is released. Mirror lock up, that's very cool!. Depth of field marked on lens. I should think this would be a real find.

I am on a diet. No more cameras until I lose 8 lbs. I brought home a box of Milk Duds tonight.

Really is a beautiful vintage camera.

My SR-1 (yes, I have one) works fine with MC and MD lenses ONLY you don't have a depth of field preview on the SR-1 body and relies on the lens having a preview lever.

Not a deal breaker for me...
