For Sale Sold and Delivered: Nikon 300mm ƒ2.8 D AF-S IF-ED

I am selling a very well taken care of Nikon 300mm ƒ2.8 D AF-S IF-ED. This was used when I photographed sports and thought I would embrace wildlife photography more than I ended up doing. Glass is pristine and haze/dust/grease free. The exterior is about 95% of new due to normal handling. It has been stored in the Nikon case or in a Lowepro backpack, never left out in the open. I am the original owner, it has never been lent to anyone.

Included are:
-HK-22 Carbon Fiber lens hood
-Glass filter holder (in the lens)
-Gel filter holder if you need to use gel filters instead of the glass ones
-CL-300 case. This has some wear on it but never translated to the lens.
-Nikon Soft lens cover.

Asking $2049 (which is a very fair price considering that KEH and B&H sell them for around $2600-$2800).

I have that exact same lens. It is the best out of 60 world class lenses I own, and your copy looks in excellent condition. It is phenomenally sharp wide open at f2.8 - even all the way out to the edges. I shot most of the images on this page with this same version of the Nikon 300 2.8 AFS lens. Thank you so much for the validation of this lens. It truly is a Nikon Classic. BTW, your work is very, very impressive, thanks for sharing the link. I used to use this lens, on a monopod, and an 80-200 ƒ2.8D when I photographed sports. That combo worked well for me. I would love to keep this lens but I no longer photograph people for a living and do more hiking and landscape images, (both urban and nature). The 300 ƒ4 I have is a lighter tool and fits the bill. Although, I have toyed with keeping it.......you know......just in case! :>)
