I have two Ansco Super Regent 35mm rangefinder cameras for sale. They are both very nice looking cameras but there are a couple of problems. Fortunately there is a solution.
Camera number one, on the left, has a perfectly operating shutter, focus mechanism, rangefinder and aperture control. However the film transport has problems. It transports the film just fine but it doesn’t know when to stop. You can stop it yourself and take your picture but the frame spacing may or may not overlap.
Camera number two, on the right, has a terrific film transport mechanism that operates smoothly and stops when it should. No overlapping frames nor frames to far apart. However the shutter does not work. When you cock and fire the shutter the shutter blades open as expected but they do not close.
Interestingly each camera is practically identical, even with the same Solinar lens (which are very nice lenses btw) and it is possible to remove the shutter and lens assembly from the camera with the bad film transport and transplant it into the camera with the perfect film transport system. This was in fact what I had intended to do.
But, I have too many cameras and no time. Add to that the fact that I am not anyone’s idea of a competent camera repair technician, and it is best that I don’t even try. My loss, your gain. If you are interested I am more than happy to sell you both cameras for a very small amount.
$20 gets you both cameras and another $10 gets them both shipped directly to your home as long as you live in the continental US. I ship via USPS Priority mail so they will get to you quickly. I will absorb the Paypal fees just so I can clear these nice cameras out. Let me know if you are interested and I will send you my Paypal ID.
Thanks for looking and enjoy the cameras. Oh...as a bonus one of the cameras has a very nice leather case that was made for it by the manufacturer.
