I just purchased some Sodium Sulfite raw chemical. I'm reading some conflicting information on it's quantity for use as a wash aid?

How much per 1000ml? 1 teaspoon or one tablespoon?

How many minutes (approx) is required for fibre based paper after Ilford Rapid Fix for example.

How much washing after its use?

Thanks

Room temperature, ~68 - 75 F., water is fine. Two tespoons in a litre will dissolve quickly. I do it all the time.

Gary, I've been using the sod.sulphite at 1 teaspoon per litre of water and dissolve it first in about 100 ml of very warm to hot water - then keep filling to 1 litre with the cold tap - this makes sure the powder is properly disssolved and brings the total litre up to about 20 deg. C solution - started doing this after finding bits of undisolved powder in the tray even after an hour.
I soak the prints in it for 10 mins, agitating now and then - does the job and is cheap as chips.
Patricia.

Whoops - forgot the rest of your questions - yes, this is for fibre paper and after using Rapid Fix I wash in running water for 5 mins, wash aid for 10 mins then final wash in running water for 20 mins.
Patricia
