When an emulsion calls for Sodium Cloride is it a bad thing to use ordinary table salt that contains silicates,iodine, etc.? Chemicaly pure would be the best I suppose.

Table salt is certainly less expensive than Reagent grade. I need that cost savings considering the cost of plain old food!

I've been reading the declarations on salt packages, and ended up using the cheapest coarse sea salt. And the rest of it is useful for getting rid of the ice on the stairs from the road down to my house.

You might want to try knocking some salt off the french fries at McDonalds, and see if that works...
