When an emulsion calls for Sodium Cloride is it a bad thing to use ordinary table salt that contains silicates, iodine, etc.? Chemicaly pure would be the best I suppose.

However, table salt is quite good on corn on the cob.

Table salt is certainly less expensive than Reagent grade. I need that cost savings considering the cost of plain old food!

Two cheers for the corn on a cob! And let's not forget the hot and juicy rump roast with taters on the side. Damn, now I'm hungry. Would someone please pass me the sodium chloride.

I've been reading the declarations on salt packages, and ended up using the cheapest coarse sea salt. And the rest of it is useful for getting rid of the ice on the stairs from the road down to my house.

You might want to try knocking some salt off the french fries at McDonalds, and see if that works...
