Thought I'd start a thread to find out who's going to be in Sringfield the weekend of May 20. For me it's about an hours drive so I'll be going back to Ct.at night. It would be nice to find out who will be there so we can all have a drink
and put some of the faces together with their posts. I spoke with Bruce Barlow today and it sounds like the events will be well attended. I'm going to show up in the lobby of the Marriot at 9AM/that's Friday morning -someone from the local LF Group will be taking us for an outing.
Regards, Peter

I was planning to attend, since I live half an hour away, but my schedule for that weekend has gone down the crapper. Hope you all have a wonderful time!

I will be there - but you already knew that peter!
Most of my time will be running between the conference and the Valley Photo Center.
But I sure would like to meet other APUG members who will be attending.

I'm planning to be there. It's about a two hour drive for me, so I'm staying in Windsor. I definitely want to be there for the Friday AM field trip.

I was until a big car repair bill shot that down the tubes.
And I'm going to Kerik's workshop later this year.

I really want to but, I am certain that a trip to "that other coast" is out of the question this year. In any case, I think I've already used up all my vacation days for the year.

Yup...I'm going. I reserved a hotel room in early March I think it was and had a darn hard time finding anything available...but I did! Looking forward to it immensely.

For those who will be attending the conference:

In conjunction with the View Camera Conference (May 20, 21 & 22 at the Springfield Marriott) the Valley Photo Center will host an exhibition of large format photography. The “Western New England Large Format Photography/View Camera Exhibition” will have photographs from the WNELFP members along with images from the New England Large Format Collective.
A sample of photographers presenting their work is Bruce Barlow, Richard Ritter, Ron Rosenstock, Ted Harris, Andrew Held, Paul Wainwright, Steve Sherman, Jack Holowitz, Bob Hallock, Peter Schrager (peters), some guy named gene Laford (??) and many others.
There will be a reception Saturday evening May 21 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Valley Photo Center.
Hours for the exhibition are: Friday and Saturday May 20 & 21, 11:00am to 4:00pm and Sunday May 22 from 11:00 am to 2:00pm.
The View Camera Conference will have a trade show of many large format products by major companies and presentations by many national and international photographers, along with portfolio reviews and other events. For more information on the conference, please visit www.viewcamera.com
The Springfield Marriott is located in the southwest corner of Tower Square. The Valley Photo Center is in the northeast corner of Tower Square, ground floor.

I hope to meet some APUG members at this event.

heading east

I'll be coming in from the left coast. I'll be staying at the Marriot.

I'm curious what the story is with the outing on Friday. Does anyone
know the particulars:

Where it's going
When it will end
Is it on rain or shine ( love that New England Weather)

Thanks in advance for any info anyone may have.

Later,
Terry

Outing

Terry-I believe the outing will be in the local Springfield area. I'm assuming it's architectural subject as there is alot of good stuff locally. How-probably a couple of hours-at least? See you there
Best, Peter

I think they will have info on several choices to go out to shoot. If I am correct, you meet at 9:00 am at a certain booth to gather.
I will find out more info this weekend.

Friday outing

Thanks for the feedback folks.

I will be off line next week - major plan being to cruise the Maine coast ( weather permiting ).

I will just play it by ear on the Friday thing - see you all there.

It would be good to put faces to sign on names. If anyone is organized enough to put a eyeball to eyeball together leave word somewhere. At other
conferences that I go to there is usually a message board near the exhibits or workshops.

Even if I don't realize it at the time - I'll see you all there.

Later,
Terry

If you are still there on Saturday, go to the exhibition reception at the Valley Photo Center (5 - 8pm) it is located in the same complex - Tower Square - as the Marriott. I will be there, probably running around like crazy.
Actually it would be great if all APUG'ers in attendence could meet at the reception. Just ask one of the VPC people for gene... I'm almost infamous!

Hey Gene,

I'm unable to make the conference, but I am hoping to make it by for the exhibition reception. See you there!

Paula Chamlee and I will be at the View Camera Conference in Springfield. We are not only making a number of presentations, we'll also have a booth for our Lodima Press books. And we'll have lots of prints with us, including examples of our new work from Iceland, so those who wonder what an Azo print can look like, do stop by and take a look.
