I've been trying. This is the worst time in the past decade to try to build a computer. There are no parts available and what is available is way over priced.
I don't know how to build a computer, mine was ordered from a company who built them to order.

No new camera but I am receiving a new tripod to replace my lost one. How does someone lose a tripod anyways? Cannot find the thing for the life of me.

A co-worker expressed interest in shooting film. So I dug up an AE-1 w/50mm f1.8 and a few rolls of film from the freezer and am giving it to him. He'll need to reseal it but no problem for him.

BTW I spoke with Jon Goodman and he's suspended selling seal kits until after the 1st of the year due to the screwed up post office losing a bunch of kits he shipped.

Hope it works out. Graphics cards are being snapped up by bit miners, the Chinese and scalpers (can we still use this term?) making it nearly impossible for us regular dopes to get the parts we need.

To be thirty pounds lighter and fifty years younger, but still remain so incredibly handsome and highly intelligent.

Believe me from my day to day, it's not all it's cracked up to be.

(Yes it is, just trying to make you feel better)

I've been asking for a Minolta SR-2 - which is actually Minolta's first SLR but named their second SLR SR-1, but it looks like it's going to be a lump of coal instead. I say that it's because it's a weird year but most likely because I don't deserve one . . . :whistling:

How about you, do you have the inside scoop on whether or not you're getting what you asked for . . . deserving or not . . .
I have more cameras than Santa Claus and I'm sure I have far more than he could possibly carry.

I am waiting for a seal kit from Austin, a yellow filter from Canada, and some Pec Pads that are all overdue.

Even when stuff is in stock, delivery is buzzard right now. I bought something recently and the package took 4 days for the first 4 miles (pickup in suburb to the cities main post office) of a 1500 mile trip.

I have enough cameras, I'm getting a new computer for Christmas, I have had my current one for more than for seven years.
I have MORE than enough cameras. Over 50. All formats from 16mm to 11"x14".
Perhaps I should ask Herr Claus for ein grosser haus?

I am almost embarrased to say this, but I had the chance to buy not one but two SR-2 cameras at an affordable price here. I didn't because I didn't find anything special about them. But i'm not a Minolta collector. Which advantage would a SR-2 have over, say, an SRT-102?

It's just to add to my immersion experience in learning about these marvelous works of industrial art as I would like to compare it to the other firsts of the brands . . .

Here's a writeup about it by Stephen Gandy https://www.cameraquest.com/minsr2.htm. A very dangerous site to go to . . .

Enough of this piece part replacement, I want a full body replacement with the 18 year old hard body. No plastic parts.
