This is me, It was 1986 and I was the high school newspaper photographer, and I ran around with a beat up pentax around my neck, trying not to get stuffed into a locker. I got to learn a little about the darkroom, and got bitten by the darkroom bug. Well, now I am (finally) starting to get my own darkroom set up.

Currently I have a Nikon f60 and a couple of cheapo zooms, but it is funny, my interest in taking pictures has never faded. Something about freezing a moment in time has always appealed to me.

I am not very good, I have made a couple of "picture" daytrips, where the only reason I left the house was to take some pictures, but never really gotten good at it.

I know I have a lot to learn, and can't wait to get into the relaxing quest for perfection in the darkroom, Just thought I would say hi.

Welcome, Ken. You will love it here. There are a lot of very helpful people who will assist you on the learning curve.
Best regards froim Australia,
Kevin

Welcome. This is a great place to learn. Lots of knowledgable people who are generous with their responses. If you want to improve your analog photography skills, you found a good resource.

Hi and welcome. Lots of friendly folks here. I get the feeling that the full spectrum of experience and skill is represented.
Popular side topics / jokes concentrate on Rodinal and Scotch (not necessarily in the same container though...hmmmm....Morten ever tried this????).

Welcome, Ken. If we're lucky, w're all still learning. If not, we've either turned off our mind, our heart, or both.

Welcome Ken from a longtime lurker who's come out of the shadows. This site will definitely improve your picture-taking. There's no end of stunning pictures that will inspire you and there's all the information you need on how they were taken. The thing that I reallly like about this site is the number of extremely talented amateurs and seasoned pros who are happy to share their knowledge. You'll learn more from this site than you will any book on photography.

Have fun.
Andrew

Greetings and welcome to the source of all analog knowledge  Nice to see another Pentax user who has switched to Nikon, but both have lovely glass.

Welcome, even if you switched from Pentax to Nikon... I once considered doing the same, but discovered the backwards compatibility of Pentax outweighed all other considerations from my point of view.
:D

Well, Ken, it's hard to top Ralph's words of wisdom. So I'll just say welcome to APUG where film is King and Rodinal flows freely!

Thanks

Thanks everyone, I am learning a lot just by reading through the old posts. I know where I will go first when I have problems.

Welcome Ken from Hawaii!! I'm also an ex-Coloradian; I was raised in Colorado Springs. Just got tired of the crowds and the snow.

Welcome Ken, you have chosen to visit the best site for analog info, friendship and rodinal/scotch jokes.
