I am thinking to build a camera with big roll of 35 mm film inside and roll one and to empty spool. Than to make a slit lens and hand crank - move - the film while walking and record Istanbul high streets.
Do I get a meaningful record or a lots of sliding curves ?
Than I am thinking to scan it but dont flame please.

Best ,

That all depends on the dynamics... (the dynamics of your camera work, the dynamics of the scene)

I guess the best extremes would be something like the image by a sports finish camera (static camera/subjects moving) or something like the image by a swing-lens/rotational camera (when your panning is appropriate).

Another aspect is that your headline contains "cinema", which would mean a succession of single images. Your idea however would yield one single image of super-panoramic aspect-ratio.

Think about how you would show it.
