I have rokkor mc 135mm f2.8 lens that I picked up for $10. Nice shape but it has a slight rock. The front element that distends out when focusing has a slight wobble to the element mounted firmly on the camera. I don’t know if it will affect performance. I took it apart to see if I could fix it but I couldn’t see the cause. Any tips or advice?

Coming in from the rear looking down there is a small hole in the base that has no screw in it. I have no screw for it and don’t know if it needs one. Seems like it would need more than one screw to secure the front element.

It would help if you had photos -- close-ups.

I have a 50mm 1.7 Rokkor-X with a similar problem. It's annoying, but I've never seen it cause a problem with my images. That said I don't use it very much.

I think with your location it should be pretty easy to find a nearby camera repair shop that could get it back into shape without too much cost or trouble.
