Slides, Screens, Projectors.......

I bought one of these, from Ebay, about a year ago.
- KODAK Ektagraphic III E PLUS -

It has the original box and manual. SEEMS to be in good shape, but i honestly never even plugged it in. Time will tell.

Anyway, just in case there was some interest.
Do any of you guys want to discuss, or give advice about what projectors you have or what screens to buy, or any other advice for those of us just getting into, or contemplating a slide projector.?

Does a white sheet, pulled tight qualify.?
Is there a reflective quality to a "real" screen ....... or is it just the consistent smoothness that is important?

The very few times I've ever projected my slides, I've just used a blank wall -- white, of course. Works just fine.

As I remember . . .
- A white wall gives the widest viewing angle, if you have a group watching.
- A beaded screen gives a brighter image, but at the cost of a narrower viewing angle.
- A BIG screen used to be expensive and hard to handle, a white wall much easier, in homes with flat white walls.
- A white sheet pulled tight should work just fine.

Craigslist has a very good condition 4x4 screen for 15 bux. My daughter is going to pick it up for me.
If i need bigger than that, i can use a sheet for almost no cost at all.

If you are really interested in projecting slides, spring for a top quality, reflective screen. They are not cheap, but there is a world of difference between a white wall and a purpose built scree.
