Slide viewer

Hi,

What is the largest screen 35mm slide viewer you have seen? Being able to feed strips would be a plus. I have looked at the DLC DL-SV3, 4" screen but mixed reviews. I would also like something bigger if its out there.

Mine is about 10x10".
BUT it is a dual-use slide-projector that can be switched from projection onto external screen to projection onto integrated groundglass.

There are different projectors of that kind. But none would take strips

I remember as a kid having a film strip projector that projected against a screen. Don't think it was 35mm though. I think a projection set up vs a magnifier would be the way to go for a bigger screen. Doing strips would be nice because I don't mount my slides. Wounder if I could make something.

With the typical slide viewer the aerial image is used. To get a biggrer image huge massive lenses must be used. Or a flat fresnel lens.
In adition using the aerial image limits the viewing angle.

Thus the alternative approach of using a groundglass.

I just found in a catalogue a pure-slide viewer with groundglass projection instead of loupe and aerial image. Something inbetween in image size between classic slide viewers and the one I described in post #2.

From what I can recall I think I may have had the same strip projector and while I was young the strips if I recall were very like the size of 35mm film. It showed a series of frames by threading the film onto two spools. Mine has a number of cartoon characters on each strip and I was supposed to tell the story to the small but eager audience( Mum,Dad and occasionally Uncle and Aunt) as I turned the spools.

Fun and educational as toys were. This one improved my ability to tell a story properly. It seems like yesterday but I don't think the Korean War had even started when I got it

I have a Smith Victor slide viewer that when set up shows 40 slides. The box is the same size as the 35mm slide storage boxes.
