Some slide projectors can be commanded throught controller mixer by DMX 512 interface (for ex. Ektapro 7000/9000 and Pradovit RT) putting a card like this:

into projector rear panel.
But for other projectors? Is there an adaptor that can allow us to link a lighting mixer to an RS232 interface or a 8/12/14 pole socket?

The top projectors of the generation before had RS 232 connectors.

A further generation before there was not even programming at the projectors themselves but DIN connectors for cables running to dissolve units.
But I am not sure whether the pin functions were standardized between manufacturers. I got such unit, but still no respective projector. I still have to find out...

Hello, AgX. Nice to see you!
Yes, is like you have said.
Old projectors had different sockets with pin that can change. There was socket with 7, 8, 10, 12 and 14 pins. If two projectors have same socket with same pins then it'ok, they're compatible. If 2 projectors have sockets with different number of pin, data tranferred are different and there isn't compatibility.
About DMX 512 interface, Pani's have 5 pins, Baessgen for Ektapro 7000/9000 and Pradovit RT have 3 pins. Is it possible to control both from a lighiting mixer?
I don't unterdtand very well ...
