Hi!
My first post so hope it is in the right spot.

I am shooting transparency/slide film in both 35mm and Medium format but could use some advice.
What I shoot will sometimes depend on how much gear I can carry with me, but would like to try to skew toward Medium format or 35mm when able.
Obviously bigger negative = better resolution all things being equal.

I (44 years old) have seen plenty of 35mm slide shows in my life, though not for a long time, but precisely zero medium format slide shows. Just wondering what the difference is like to anyone out there who has seen MF slide projections. Is it a big difference between the two as far as crispness of image and detail? I know there are other factors such as distance from viewing screen, projector lens, etc. But if all else equal, in an average room, on a slide projection screen, will a MF (6x6 Hasselblad) slide be noticeably better than a 35mm slide (from either Nikon F2 shooting Nikon primes, or Bessa R3A shooting Jupiter 8)
Just curious.
Also, for bonus points...
Recommended projectors? (More concerned with quality over availability of parts -- can scrounge for scarce parts if necessary)
Projectors that can do both 35mm and MF (I think there is a Rollei that can, any others anyone knows about -- and is that dual-format capable Rollei any good? Or better to get separate 35mm and MF projectors?)

Feel free to comment on any of the above (don't feel you need to do all)
Thanks!!

Difference can be dramatic, as in "holy crap" different.
I'm not sure there are any bad mf devices there weren't that many available on the market and prices could be as much as a camera.
There's one 67/66 machine around but the brand name escapes me. I'd not heard of 66->35mm though.

You should be pretty concerned about parts too if the projectors were hen's teeth, parts are chicken lips.

Welcome to APUG

Nothing compares to MF in slides. 35mm slides shutter from being overwhelmed, and crawl away in tears.

I wanted to try projecting my 6x6 slides, so I bought a Kindermann projector on eBay. It is quite a good machine, and quite robust. The slides look really good projected. I wasn't aware of any dual format machines, but there are loads of 35mm models available for next to nothing. If I was looking for a quality 35mm model now, I would get one of the Kodak Carousel machines. Like all things, it's probably best to get a projector that's designed for the format you intend to use. With the low prices at the moment, I would get the best available for 35mm and a suitable model for MF. I can recommend the Kindermann if you can find one. It wasn't expensive. Mine cost 45 UK Pounds.

My father had a Bausch and Lomb 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" slide projector that was a superb machine. When I bought the Hasselblad, I could not locate one. If you find one buy it and all the trays for it.

I have never had the opportunity to experience a mf slide show either but have always wanted to.

One cool thing is that with 6x6 slides the projection should fill a standard style standard square screen perfectly.

I always wanted to do some Bw slides in 6x6 with Dr5 but never got around to it, I just don't like the idea of not being able to print the images easily in the darkroom.
