The fall colors have come and gone where I am at. Therefore I don't want to the rest of my Kodachrome without those nice reds. Also, there is a lack of green, so no Velvia either. What would be a good slide for the winter?

I have some Polachrome...I haven't shot it yet since I don't have a processor...yet I really want to shoot this stuff. I need to track down a processor.

I have one if you want it. I have one roll of polachrome left to shoot and process though so it might be a week or three.

That would be nice...What do you want for it? For a slide film I think Elite Chrome 100 or 200 has done well for me in the snow.

The main issue is the cost of some of the better films such as Astia. But I don't really want to sacrifice quality either.

B&H sells Elite Chrome 100 for only $4.69 per roll. I think that is affordable.

what are you trying to get in terms of colors? saturation, lower contrast, less saturation?

I'd shoot the same thing as you would always shoot. If its Kodachrome, try E100VS. not the same, but it sure throws reds, yellows and blues at ya'.

I personally like E100G(Kodak) or Provia(Fuji). Velvia 50 is nice too.

FLICKR can be your friend sometimes to see what you might get.

Provia 100 is my favorite slide film to use in winter scenes.

For Winter I like Fuji Provia 400 X, it's a remarkable film for it's speed.
