SITE UPGRADES STILL IN PROGRESS

This has got to be staring me in the face, but how do I find the member list or search for a member? Advanced search only seems to search for posts by members. What if a member has made no public posts?

Beats the heck out of me. It used to be under the "Community" tab. I suspect that Sean just hasn't put it back up yet.

David Thanks. I now realise the quick reply box appears if you scroll down to the bottom of the page but being used to seeing the option in each post I was never in the habit of scrolling to the very bottom. I just picked the nearest post and used that option.

Once you get used to operating one way then change is challenging.

I kind of like this way of doing it - I can "quick reply" to a tread instead of a single post!

ok some things fixed/changed since yesterday and today. it's been a mad dash so i might have left a few things out

-all ignore functions now working (ignore user, ignore forum, ignore thread).

-most access opened for unregistered users

-RSS feeds are now working. I know a lot of people use RSS as an easy way to view new threads without coming directly to the site (especially when at the office). Feel free to work with me on enhancing this. Not sure what RSS is? google it for a better explanation than I can give. The rss feed link is next to the searchbox on the apug menu (little orange square)

-all click trails of registering, subscribing, donating have been updated

-"subscribe/donate" tab has been added

-"log in" tab has been added. if someone is unregistered they will be presented with a "Register" tab and a "Log in" tab

-sidebar added to the search results list, it does look better this way I think

-new chat system installed and ready just waiting on the license code from the purchase which can take a few days (the new chat system is super nice)

-still working on a solution to provide members with options for how they get "new posts"

-hoping to get the recipes and articles ported over to the new system this weekend

I'm sure I've left a few things out. Much more work to do but things are progressing, thanks for your patience!

well, now i'm not so sure about RSS. any RSS gurus in here? If I'm in Safari and click the rss button i get the feed, but I'm not so sure I have the RSS link right. checking...

*update, i've copied the link into an RSS reader and it seems to work ok.

Not sure how I can ignore the Grey Area subforum, and how I could get rid of the Regional Groups postings in the "new posts"? Is this not implemented yet or is it me doing it the wrong way? There is no ignore function on either one of them when I go into these two forums.

EDIT: when I see the list of fixes and updates... wow! A lot has been done. Thumbs up, yet again!

The gallery is now back to normal. All unregistered and general members can view all categories and thumbnails but will get a notice when trying to view the photo.

I must be doing something wrong..... I can not find the IGNORE THREAD option..... Is it still under THREAD TOOLS?

I'll need to add it to thread tools, but look to the bottom right of every post and you'll see a link there. there are 4 small links at the bottom of each post: ignore user - ignore thread - ignore forum - report post

I just looked at the raw RSS and it looks fine. I see that it is also upgraded to version 2.0.

This may have been covered, but there isn`t a link to a users gallery in the dropdown menu you get by clicking a users name anymore...

Nor is there a link to the user's gallery in their profile anymore. If you go to subscriber gallery, you can search for a subscriber's gallery from there. Not as easy, but it works.

Scroll back a page or two and I posted the link to the memberlist there, until Sean has a chance to add it back to the new menus.

Mine are there too, but they're waaaay back on the last pages. I'm not very active in the gallery...

Dev should pick up again soon. I had to take some time off for family things (wife's birthday on the 27th and daughters birthday on the 29th) and to catch my breath. The coder that helped integrate several key pieces is also too busy to continue with 2 or 3 other pieces because he is busy. I'm waiting to hear back from him to see if we can get things rolling again soon. If not I'll have to find another coder. Mainly 3 of the mods I want to install 'could' install fine or they could break other parts of the site so I am reluctant to break some code without a coder around to repair things.

The new chatroom situation has been bizarre to say the least. I was supposed to get the license key weeks ago but the owner of the company has vanished. This is no small operation either they are one of the top chat systems on the market with 10,000's of installs and sites using it. Their sales team rely on the owner to generate the final keys and they are desperately trying to get a hold of him to get our key. I'll give it a few more days because the software is *that good* then start looking for another solution..
