Sean,

I'm pretty sure that I had hidden the Soapbox and subforums but now they appear back.
Could this be due to the upgrade? I read through the posts here and it seems I'm the first (only) to notice.

Not if you read this thread... (4th post from the beginning of this thread)

By the way - I am happy APUG exists and am grateful for all the work Sean (and all others, too) put into making it such an outstanding place!

Immediately after the upgrade, if you went to your Control Panel >> Options page, there was a list you could select and hide forums (which apparently, didn't work correctly).

Now that option seems to have disappeared completely and all the forums are visible, so it seems that Sean is still working on it (and it is around 4 a.m. in Kiwiland as I type)...

Hope you are fast asleep Sean!

Cheers, Bob.

Sean -

Great work.

As you read through the complaints, keep in mind that the only people who really enjoy change are babies with wet diapers.

Carl--In the upper right hand corner of your screen, you'll find the links for new PMs and new forum posts.

Great job Sean!

Re: New posts list. Threads I have read are immediately disappearing from the list rather than staying in the list and being highlighted as read. I find this a bit of a pain because if I want to go back to a thread I have read I now have to search the forums for it instead of just clicking 'New Posts' again. Maybe another roundtuit.

Andy, all the other forums that I participate on that use this same version of the software work the same way - the posts disappear after you read them. I suspect that is the default.

Could you work around it with the "Subscribe to thread" feature?

Overall the facelift looks good but I don't like the disapearing posts, sorry but it is really annoying.
It took me a while to figure out where the "new posts" button were located. Well I might get used to it but I right now like the old way better. Also the english forum....well I had a hard time figuring that out. Ay Im only ranting here, didn't mean to cause it really looks good and it may be old habbits die hard.
Thumps up Sean

*update- The old gallery application menu, and classifieds application menu have now been migrated into the main apug menu navigation. Like I stated earlier part of the plan is to have 1 consistent navigation menu for all apug applications.

Also the links area has been repaired.

Getting there!

-subnavigation highlighting is almost 100% now, so for example when you go to the forums tab and click the "New Posts" button the "New Posts" link will remain highlighted as an indicator of where you are on the site..

is it a known bug that non-subscribers can view images in gallery?

Isn't it possible to jump to a subscriber's gallery images from their profile anymore? Or am I missing something? Please enlighten....

Sorry if this is a cross-post or something someone already said, but stuff from Geographic locations still comes up in new posts even though I have clicked away that in "Edit visibility". Is it just me doing things the wrong way?

EDIT: It's the APUG Regional Focus Groups I want to get rid of or be able to edit out parts of anyways.

Yes, should be fixed soon, thanks

Sean all the posts I look at are missing the quick reply option. It was there a couple of days ago then wasn't there yesterday. All post on my screen have only pm and reply with quote. I mentioned this on the new designs thread last night hoping that when I logged on today it would be fixed but it is still there.

No one else semes to have mentioned it, so the problem may be peculiar to me. Can you help?

Thanks

I responded to this in another thread--You no longer need the "quick reply" button. If you want to do a quick reply, just click in the "Quick reply" box and start typing. We still have the quick reply feature, but you don't need to press the button first.

David Thanks. I now realise the quick reply box appears if you scroll down to the bottom of the page but being used to seeing the option in each post I was never in the habit of scrolling to the very bottom. I just picked the nearest post and used that option.

Once you get used to operating one way then change is challenging.

This has got to be staring me in the face, but how do I find the member list or search for a member? Advanced search only seems to search for posts by members. What if a member has made no public posts?

Thanks in advance...

Bill
