Does there exist a reduction back insert which will fit an 8X10 Norma for shooting 5X7? I have this size of Norma and a 4X5 reduction back, however I really want to shoot 5X7, but do not want to have to change the back and bellows. Is there a way?

BTW - here is my Norma with its freshly mounted Kodak Aero Ektar. I'm setting up to shoot 4X5 tintypes and hope to later do 8X10 (I'll have to find another lens though, of course).

I'm looking at my SINAR literature that I've kept since buying my Norma new around 1970. It shows there was an 8x10-to-5x7 "Reducing-Adaptor" available; its order number was 2055 (all order numbers currently use a different series of numbering). Of course, you'd also need the 5x7 groundglass/film holder carrier (#1630) if you don't already have it. I've never seen this adapter available anywhere, so you may have to build one yourself. Btw, you may want to find a rail cap to put on your rail to prevent the front standard falling off the rail when extending the bellows for close-ups.

Yup - I have been thinking the same thing about the rail cap. Yeah, the 5X7 Norma adapter may have been available at one time, but I've not been able to see one anywhere. Might have to just fabricate something. Was hoping maybe there would be an easy way to adapt maybe a Calumet or other Sinar reducing back to fit my camera.

If you can't find one, it's entirely possible that a reducing frame from the later F or P series will fit.

That's something I'm hoping will work. Now that I've had a good look at a Norma's back insert, maybe it'll be an easy fix. I really wonder if anyone knows for sure? Surely I'm not the first fella to have this problem

You.might check with Glenn at Glennview.com. I have a Norma 5x7 reducing adapter that fits fine on both a Norma and a P 8x10. I'm wondering if a P reduction adapter may fit on a Norma?
