Can somebody who has access to a late model Sinar f2 please email, post or point me to some (fairly detailed) photos of the beast? I am paricularly interested in the user interface points...knobs, locks controls and, especially, the back.

Also, anybody have the sinar flight case? What are the approximate external dimensions?

TIA,
Brad.

Even better, if somebody local has one that I could lay hands on for a few minutes...that would be fantastic!

Check www.sinarbron.com and www.sinar.ch for photos of the current models.

Thanks David. I've actually already pored over both of the sites you recommend. The only pictures of the f2 that I find there are small, full front views. Why don't they show any shots of the back? This always bewilders me...it seems to me, that the photographer interacts with the back of the view camera much more intimately than with the front.

Here's a closeup of the right side of the rear standard bearer on the F2--

I guess you're right--that's about it.

There's a seller on eBay who goes by apogeebee--prices are kind of high for eBay, but they buy and sell Sinar stuff and usually have good pictures. You might check their current and completed auctions.

This equipment is sufficiently expensive that the USA distributor can afford to provide service to prospective customers. Assuming there is a reasonable chance you may make a purchase.

A friend has a studio in a small farming community four hours outside of NYC. Since it is equipped with Sinar cameras and Bron strobes, the area tech rep makes regular visits to his studio to demonstrate the latest equipment. Often leaves stuff for a week's free tryout.

Surely, they must have reps in the SF area?
