Hi,

I'm anxious to get into a view camera for architectural work. I have found a Sinar F (not F1 or F2 or F3) for under 300.00 with a bag bellows. That's about my current budget allowance. Should I buy it or wait to get an F2?

Thank you, and I'd prefer to hear from one who has experience with the F.

I used an "F" (4x5) for architectural photography (bag bellows most of the time...) throughout the '80s. I did not run up against anything I could not do with it. I will note however, the shortest lens I used with it was a 65mm Super Angulon so I can't comment about it's use with wider lenses.

Just ensure you've got a BIG enough tripod. I learned this the hard way, then I bought a 4 series Gitzo (aluminum) and matching two-way pan/tilt head.
