I have yet to develop any film myself since moving to Japan, but I'm not thrilled with lab-developed b/w. Looking around, it seems my old trusty Rodinal is hard to come by, so I'm seeking alternatives that are available here.
The times for HP5 are the same as those Harman give for Agfa Rodinal. I'd give it a go. With this name, are they trying to evoke the Selo films? I like that.

It's been around for sometime, a Japanese chemical Chuggi Photo Chemical company bought the rights to the Ilford name off the receivers of Ilford Imaging in Switzerland.
Ilford did make their own version of Rodinal, Certinal, which they introduced around 1907 and discontinued late 1950s. Although Mees worked on a similar developer while at Wratten & Wainwright Kodak didn't make an equivalent Kodinol until just after WWII, made by Kodak Ltd here in the UK and never sold in the US.
