recovering the silver aside, will it rejuvinate the fixer to extend its life?
"2nd light to come on .. then you dispose of the fixer ..
( it still has silver in it ) ..."
Jnanian, is it safe to dump this remaining fixer which still has fixer it it, down the drain? If so, does it make any difference if the drain goes to a septic tank? TY
"trickle tank has the ability to get the parts / million low ( less than 1 low )"
So, if using a trickle tank, its a fraction of what the silver magnet is, but still to high for a septic tank?
Thanks for all your info.
Silver Magnet
an affordable silver recovery solution to
remove most of the silver from your spent fixer.
the silver magnet is a small electrolytic device that can
electroplate most the silver from a gallon of spent fixer in 24 hours.
the cathode can hold 28-32 troy oz of silver before it is removed from the unit and traded in for $$$.
no minimums or exorbitant fees.
please contact me if interested: silvermagnet@nanianphoto.com
thanks

i am in touch with another company that has 2 gallon trickle tanks / media buckets and test strips
that will be sold as a single unit. i realize the 3.5 gallon bucket might be more than what some folks here
need to use, so i did some research and found a company that could supply me ( and me to you )
smaller tanks/buckets that do the same thing. they will cost a bit less than the current 3.5 gallon tank i currently offer.
i am waiting for a quote from the sales department as i type this post.
thanks for your interest in doing your part to soften your silver footprint.
hi clive
i did sometihing like this for years, also used copper flashing before it became too expensive.
when you use the steel wool or copper or whatever it is you are trading ions with
it ends up being a sludgy mess.
YMMV
John, sorry I forgot to mention that you do the scrunching when the wire wool has dried out.
i know clive
even dried out it is a mess ...
YMMV
No it is not, as it is dry silver.
Can we get a report from someone who is actually using this and for whom it works and made $$$?Silver Magnet
