From the perspective of a photoengineer one easily could designate a RA-4 or Ilfochrome or even SX-70 print as silver-gelatine-print...

I have always assumed that RA-4 and Cibas have no silver in the finished print...so calling them silver gelatin prints seems a bit silly. But I kinda like the idea of a silly photoengineer...

Not silly at all: the silversalt-gelatine as sensitive medium, the use of reducing developers, the silver release in the waste etc. A photoengineer typically sees the whole process, even when just holding a print in Hand. That is what I meant with context or perspective. Each group has its terminology.

(Silly is that fiber-based paper versus RC paper terminology, which makes no sense to any group.)

Nope, still silly if there is no silver in the print...

As silly as this person...a gnome-like photographer...

(Me, taken by one of my boys yesterday -- digitally, but I am carrying a Rolleiflex.)
