Greetings!

I am looking for a finer than the Pilot ultra-fine pen. I was curious if anyone ever tried a quill (not fountain) with silver ink. Would this work with fiber paper? what kind of ink? If not, any other suggestions?

I've seen where some photographs have the edge of the photo showing next to the mat and then sign in pencil on the border. It looks very good, but I personally don't do that. Sometimes I use a black mat with white core, and I don't think it would look right.

Thanks in advance.............

I think what you need is a crow quill pen point. This is an exteremely fine steel pen nib and should be available from most stores that carry art supplies. Higgins makes both a black and a white ink that should adhere to RC paper.
