Hello,
I have a strange (and random) problem with the shutter on my Yashica. Sometimes it does not close. I recorded a short video of what it does, its here: https://youtu.be/lRWbuNCmu6U
Is there an easy way to solve this? Is it worth reparation, or should I look for some other TLR?
thank you

Some people will advise you squirt a little lighter fluid into the shutter but I say no. This will remove the needed lube.. Send it to a reputable repairman. One well known Yashica Mat repairman is Mark Hama. http://www.markhama.com/

Depends on how much you want to invest. Camera + repair = What?
Having it serviced gives you a known working camera whereas buying another one online is an unknown value.

I'd consider a repair if it's around $100 and I had already put $100 into buying the camera.

I'll second Mark Hama. He repaired my Yashica Mat-124 about a year ago and it works like new. He charged a flat fee to overhaul the camera and fix anything wrong with it. Go to the website shown above and if you send him an email describing your camera's problems he will send you a quote. IIRC he turned it around in 3 weeks, shipping time included.

If you're in Southern Ontario, Camtech (588 Concession St. Hamilton, ON) does a fantastic job. I've taken my Yashica-12 and my Rolleiflex 2.8F there for CLAs and the cost was 125$.

Thank you all for replies.
Similar to what John said, I found a guy here in Barcelona who repairs these cameras. If it is only CLA, the cost should be at about 90€, if there would be another problem, he'll call me. If I decide to not to repair the camera, the cost is 10€ for the review. I consider this prices quite good and the guy has 50 years of experience.
I know about Mark Hama, but being based in Europe, I had to look for some solution here.
I should have the camera back in one or two weeks, I'll let you know.
