Hi all. I dug around doing a search but found a lot of references to CLA'ing a shutter, but not about resources to have a shutter CLA'd. I'm looking for a repair person/shop for 3 shutters. If you want to just point me to a list I missed, that's fine. My apologies if this gets asked a lot and my searching skills were wanting.

Flutot's is closed for another 4 months or so - I see their name a lot. I am not in a hurry, so might just wait for that, but still wanting to hear other reputable options.

Located in USA (specifically CA)

Thank you

Flutot's has always been my go to place for CLAs on large format lenses. I have used SK Grimes for fabrication work, not a CLA. I have had lens CLAs done by KEH.com, but that is not in local to you.

It doesn't have to be local. I'll look into KEH's services. I have only ever bought used gear from them.

I brought a Hasselblad 500mm lens from KEH and the shutter jammed the would not let go of the body. Samy's camera freed the lens from the body. To get to the shutter mechanism, KEH had to remove all the lenses. Then after doing a CLA on the shutter, the lenses had to be reinstalled and collimated. An expensive process that cost more then the cost of the lens.

Are you advocating for or criticizing them? It's not clear from the post.

Advocating for them. I only paid for the lens, the CLA was covered by their return policy which is good for 6 months.

In California there is: https://ictcamera.com

I think he may have a waiting list, one that works by you letting him know what you want to send in and then he tells you when he's ready for it. No idea what wait time is

David

Thanks, but their website says only Compur, Copal and...some other shutter. My Ilex is in an Acme. Flutots, by the way, did reply back to me but they have a waiting list and pointed me towards other resources. I'm talking with Zacks Camera and KEH.
