I also have 2 QL17 GIIIs, but I've been using my CL lately. I'll have to dust off the Canon and shoot a roll or two.

I have this Canonet QL-17 (non G-III) wich I kind of gave up on after one roll of film through it, it later turned out to be the fault of fogged, way-out-of-date TMY I had used... Insipered by this thread I loaded it with a fresh roll of HP5+ and gave it another shot. And it`s great!

Hi Steph; For a brief shining moment week before last I was the proud owner of a beauty QL19, bought it for $40 at a local camera shop for a canoe trip, didn't want to risk the M3....had a ball shooting away with it, lots of fish and nature shots.
Hit a rock, over went the canoe, and down it went. Was just able to dive after it and got it....but after 10 days of drying the shutter will trip but won't adjust, and the aperture is stuck at F16 or so. Meter works though.... but according to my shop it's a nice looking paperweight now.
Jury still out on the film, haven't picked it up yet.
I'll probably grab another one next canoe trip (along with a new rod & reel, the river gods took those as well).

You SHOULD be able to get a CLA on it...I don't see why someone couldn't take it apart, clean it, and put it back together before judging it as a paperweight. I'd get a second opinion on that.

Just a normal ol' Canonet, I've been looking for a QL17 though, more out of interesting - I'm rather fond of the little thing because I managed to de-stick the shutter all on my own. Which has led to a lot of camera-taking-apart since.

I have a Canonet G-III QL17, but I plan to sell it soon.

I also have a Canon 50/1.2 LTM lens. The glass is in OK condition. It does flare more than I like (no filter with a non-original hood). I'll probably keep it for indoor low-light use.

In order of acquisition: Canon IIF, Canon IV-SB2, Canonet QL17 G-III, Canon 7s. The 7s is my preferred camera, especially since I still have a hoard of mercury batteries. I haven't actually used the Canonet yet, but I did redo the seals.

Glass, a full set of Canon from 28 to 135, plus Elmar (from my Leica IIIa), Summar, Summitar, Summicron. Canon 50's include f/1.8, 1.5, 1.2, and 3.5. Last lens is the latest GAS binge, the correct hood came with the IIF, and was waiting for a lens to go behind it.

Leica

I have Leica IIIf's,a IIIc, and a IIIb and use a Nikon EM. My brother used a Voitlander Prominent back in the 70's and took great shots. He still has it, but uses digital.

Had a wonderful GIII, but it sat for a couple of months and found itself with an unexplained shutter release problem. Ended up breaking the poor thing trying to fix it myself.

I'll be on the hunt for another eventually.

Canon P (Bought from you Steph) with a Canon 50mm f/1.8 and the Russian Jupiter-3 which I don't use as much as the canon lens
Canonet QL-17 GIII (my canon P essentially replaces this, but I cant seem to give up the QL17)
Canonet 28
Canon A35 F (looks kinda like a Canonet 28, but black, and cheaper).
Canon Demi half-frame (again from you Steph).
