Any tips or suggestions for me? I'd love some pointers before I burn another test roll this coming weekend.

how did it work out ?

if you like "fun" this suggestion doesn't involve using film
but cut a piece of photo paper
and put it in your camera.
as long as you don't mind the orthoesque tonal range
you can easily get the background to go pure white, and a detail-less sky is one of the perks too.
use enlarger filters to adjust your contrast range, and you can process the paper negative with the red light on
so you can see what comes up first.
works well in a studio too ..
