Same event, two different venues / dates - the South East Conecticut Camera Club and the New Haven Arts Council. Details to follow. But it will be HUGE. Shhh ... wait for more ... :surprised:

Regards, Art.

Congratulations but ... it's better to wait with the announcement until you can actually reveal some details!

Does this have anything to do with a little blue pill???
LOL! In one venue, we may have to pass them out to ensure their *attention* Just keep them away from Carnie, he tells me way too much now. I can't imagine ... shudder ....

OK folks, dates are confirmed.

Tuesday, February 5 at the Valley Photo Center (don't bother asking papagene for details, I've got intimate pictures!) in Springfield, MA

then

Wednesday, February 6 at the South East Connecticut Camera Club in Waterford / New London, CT

and if that's not all

Thursday, February 7 at the Kehler Liddell Gallery in New Haven, CT as part of the Photo Arts Collective

Meet up with one the finest master printer (definitely not me!) and see first hand the range of fine art print options available today.

Save the date of the event closest to you. Plus it's all free ...

Regards, Art.

Hi Folks,

OK, Bob's seminar tour will begin February 5 at the VPC in Sprinfield, MA. The it's the SECCC on February 6 in Waterford, CT and finally the PAC on February 7 in New Haven, CT.

That said, if there are folks who can help Bob set up about a few hours before the start of the seminar at any one of the venues, please PM me your e-mail addy and phone numbers and I will pass it along to the respective people. Not looking for a lot of folks, just 1-2 for Bob to kick around and abuse. It's his form of BDSM love.

For the rest of you NEAPUGers, just show up!

Regards, Art.

Hi Art,

I hope to make it to the seminar, and thank you for putting it together. Couldn't get your link to work, though, but I did find information here:

Thank you Bob, and Art, Gene and Christine of the VPC for hosting. Bob gave an excellent presentation, and it was great to see the superb printing he does, and great to see side by side comparisons with the same photographs of different processes.

It was well worth the drive for me.

One suggestion... make sure you've got the right start times for tonight and tomorrow. Bob's website said it started at 6pm, and it really started at 7pm. I arrived around a quarter to 6, and the place was closed. I thought I had driven an hour and a half on the wrong night! :surprised:

Found everyone in the bar downstairs!!

It was a very good evening indeed. Bob is a great guy. And the photos he showed were beautiful. For those who didn't make it... the last series of photos he showed would have been worth the price of travel!!! :D
I will post some digi-snaps of the evening soon. Right now I am just trying to relax as it was a very long day yesterday and I am still spent from it.
Thank you Bob, it was great to meet you.

I concur. It was inspirational to see all those beautiful big prints. Bob is a very generous and open presenter, and a wicked good printer. Now, where did I put those 16x20 trays?

Hi Folks,

Just got back yesterday evening. Sorry for being an absentee organizer. Definitely not the best way to organize an event - my apologies. After all the hype I was hoping to be at all three events. I hear from several folks this event went very well. Here's some quotes from a few attendees:
Jackie Saunders from SECCC said:
It was GREAT.

We both enjoyed him and his wife, Laura and his stories of what his work is like, getting to know people, how the photographers and the printers go to war with each other (power struggle, I guess  How he would want to show more of the area on one print and the photographer didn't, wanting it darker in an area of the photograph.

Walt was surprised that Bob could work 7 days a week but he does take a week off every so often
It shows that he loves what he does in the quality of the photographs.

I really didn't know what to expect but the way the presentation was set up and shown to us and the narrative made it so worth while. To see the whole club guessing half and half on some of the questions of which print was made a certain way was astonishing. I never saw prints that looked that beautiful before <snip>

I loved the Tibetan people prints too. They are an inside peek at people I would never see otherwise or think about. I believe the owner of those prints will reap fortunes to have such photos.
Maryann Ott from PAC said:
Last night was fabulous! <snip> --we had a huge turn out--about 40 people! He made an excellent presentation and had everyone engaged.
Michael Elsden a commercial photographer attending at SECCC said:
One of the best photo workshops I've attended.
Shows that Bob is an engaging speaker and more importantly, he knows what he's talking about.

Hmmm ... now to set up something for the West Coast ...

Regards, Art.
