Have any APUGgers had experience with the Shen-Hao focusing hood for their 4x5s? I know they're not ideal, and would let in more light than my BlackJacket cloth, but I'm thinking that comfort (I don't think a focusing cloth exists that makes working in Texas heat/humidity fun) and being able to access the controls easier might balance that out.

Is the hood worth $85 from Badger to try out?

(for reference, I get along fairly well with the hood on my Crown Graphic when it's used)

I use it to augment but not exclusvely. It is nice for quick reference adjustments but for serious work it in conjuction with the dark cloth works great. For focusing however it gets in the way and needs to be swung open. I'm glad to have it.
