Also, I can pop my 4x10 into my 8x10 enlarger with no fuss. Can't do that with a 5x12.
Enlarging a 4x10 onto a cut-down 16x20 piece of enlarging paper is pretty nice. I can do this with all my existing 8x10 equipment, no need to buy some lens with huge covering power, etc.

I'm surprised, too, to hear about the increase in order for 5x12 glass.

If Shen-Hao offers it, I won't order it.

Just My 2-cents.

To be honest with you, It does not bother me one bit that Shen has introduced a 5 x 12, it will be nice to have a new player in an old market.

"I think my Korona still has the original GG, I swear I have no idea how they could use these to focus on banquet guests.....it is horrible."

Jorge, people were brighter back in the old days... made it easier to focus on them.

Hey, hey, hey, this can be taken many ways. Are you implying that the photographer was brighter (ei smarter) thus able to focus better than the mexican moron??.....ok Hiawatta....them are fighting words...

Being able to enlarge (if you have an 8X10 enlarger!!) is clearly a plus for 4X10" format over 5X12".

Availibility of color films in 8X10" size, that can be cut down to 4X10" size is also a plus.

But, and I am just curious, why do you write that "If Shen-Hao offers it" you won't buy it?

I just mean that I'm not interested in it as a product, that's all. The original question seemed like it was polling people's interest in it as a product and I was just answering the question.
