Old-N-Feeble: Do you only feed a pug with wet plates, or does he use dry plates too?

Who says we can't be serious and still appreciate humor?

Wet only... he can't process the dry stuff. He also occasionally gets a plate of albumen.

It's a community with all the little subcultures and cliques that one might expect ... given the dominance of the US community it might be apposite to think of ourselves as being in some teen High School drama ... there are Preppies and Nerds and Freaks and Geeks and Mean Girls (who are all men of course) let alone the Cheerleaders (also all men, and let us not forget the sainted GW Bush was one) and, of course, no shortage of Jocks ...

I thought CRIS was the adapter you bought so you could use modern batteries in your Gossen Lunasix.

John: there is lots of non-serious stuff here on APUG.

In fact , there is some downright ridiculous stuff on APUG.

And some of it isn't even intentional!

I have fun here.

My pug is about half again larger than most. He just wouldn't stop developing... so I had him fixed.

Maybe "the play", is just starting or just ending, sometimes I do not know, sometimes I respond to a question because I think it is real, other times I respond to a question because it is fake. sometimes "things" just fill the void. other times I have more pressing concerns, I would just like to say, that everything is very fluid "in" its terms. exact meaning today, is not what will be tomorrow. Apug is like a the ocean, Deep and Vast. its waves wash over me, sometimes I retain water, sometimes I pee in it. I am not perfect, nor anyone else. this site in not perfect. we are all frustrated in and on some level. In the words of Bill Clinton. I feel your pain. Carry on wayword son. there will be peace when you are done lay your heavy head to rest, don't you cry no more. attributed to some crusty rock song I heard the other day..

If I thought this site was for jokes, I'd post a lot of my better photographs

Myth buster time.

We don't do 'shrimp' on the barbie.

Prawns, right? Though make mine a steak...

That's your barbie cue...

Say it isn't true!!!

They're not called shrimp here. They are called Prawns.

But I suppose some ad exec in the 80's thought that half of the US population might go crazy trying to work out what a Prawn is, they decided to use the word shrimp in its place.

BTW, where I grew up, cooking any type of sea food on a BBQ was treated as sacrilege. Usually a BBQ was used as a way to sacrifice lamb, in the form of chops and snags (actually, in my family, lamb was for posh people. We ate nothing but mutton).

I came here for an argument.

I played "The Argument Clinic" for my younger son last week, you know the Monty Python skit where the guy gets shuffled off between rooms Abuse, Arguments, Complaints and "Getting hit on the head lessons"...

Yes, that's a great skit!

And as for philosophy....

My observation is as APUG has grown it has "averaged" out a bit. Not so many obviously diverse personalities - not because some are not still out there but not as distinctive as I remember. (And Jorge wasn't serious?!!)

Oh no, Please don't start acting like that fredmiranda place! I dont need to be banned from here too! a.rodriguezpix lives! I did nothing wrong!
http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1303801

Who here was never banned from a forum? I did too but not from the same one, alleged violation of variable geometry site rules, you know, those which apply to some but not to all. As Jean de la Fontaine wrote centuries ago:

"Selon que vous serez puissant ou misérable,
Les jugements de cour vous rendront blanc ou noir."

Back to the original topic, yes technical discussions are way too serious and narcissic (I did this, I think that, bla bla), this is was I noticed on APUG but also on other sites. Most of the time, the gallery part is more relax.

Photography (at least the way we practice it) is a marriage between science and art. There has to be a technical aspect (and understanding) to achieve our aesthetic goals. To make a compelling image, we first need to be able to see, then be able to translate what we see to a sheet of paper. You can't separate the two.

APUG is made up of a very disparate group of people. Some are new to film, and still working out the basic scientific aspects. Others have honed their technical skills, and are looking to improve the expressive aspects. It's all good...
