OK, after several unsuccessful tries over the years to get a functional Series VI Polarizer, I am thinking of trying to open up the frame of the current one and fitting the glass from a cheap new plastic one into it. Only, I can not see how they put the thing together. This one is a Kodak Pola-Screen Series VI.

Any suggestions, or am I going to have to bit the bullet and buy a new B&W that costs more than some of my cameras?

I'll be making a a step ring for another APUG subscriber shortly - The plan is to make a Series VI adaptor so that he can screw in 49mm filters. As much of the time is in set up, there is little difference in making one or three.

Q: Would it make more sense to have a VI to 49mm ring and then use a cheap(er) polariser ?

Kind of defeats the purpose of using Series filters to my mind, also the bigger filter would block the viewfinder/rangefinders on the cameras I use them on. Thank you for the offer, but I do not think it would solve my problem. However, I thank you for the offer.

Query: No one makes a 44mm to 49mm adapter out there?

Good morning, GrayWolf;

The Tiffen people built a new Series 9 colour correction filter for me a couple of years back. Now I also need to have one of my 55mm CC filters either repaired or replaced. (It didn't fall that far, and the floor is linoleum covered!) I have been thinking about asking if they can repair or rebuild the 55mm filter also. If they have this capability, it might be somethikng to conisder, especially if the E-KCo. people will not offer such a service. www.tiffen.com
