I use stainless Nikor tanks and either Nikor or Hewes reels. I add about six drops of Photo flo to 2/3 of a quart of water and pour it directly into the tank with the film on the reel. I rarely have water spots on the film and no problems with any buildup on the reel.

A couple drops in DISTILLED water, equal to volume of the tank. Just a minute or two.
