Selling/buying stuff and Ebay

As a "newbie" here I have been avidly following the classifieds link. But, find it totally frustrating as there appears to be no way to remove an item once it sells. Have to look through a lot of stuff that perhaps has already sold. Not a problem with the format, just that it does not lend itself to a "swap shop" type of format. I too have used Ebay, but find it to be too expensive for a lot of the stuff I want. Now with cost there going up it appears that it is also getting expensive to sell.

Can we set up a swap and shop format? Amateur radio folk have been doing it for years. One of the better ones is at http://hamrad.com The biggest need is the ability to remove an item once it has sold. And perhaps to have a 30 day expiry as well.

I now find out that there are a few European ones too. They could be linked. Would make it really easy for us "accumulators.

In an earlier incarnation of the forum it was possible for the original poster to delete threads for items that had been sold, but somewhere along the software upgrade path, that functionality was lost. I think it would be good to bring it back, if possible.
