Where do you send Sekonic meters for repair in the USA? I need to get a L-558R spot meter looked into. All of a sudden, it's giving me erroneous reading, even with fresh battery. George Milton's phone in Los Angeles says it is no longer in service.
Thanks for any info.

Since Quality Light Metric closed shop a few years ago there's no one to do the work. Sekonic is still in business, you might want to try to contact the manufacturer.

It seemed from my last attempt that Sekonic themselves won't touch anything more than a couple of years old unfortunately.

I was hoping there is someone somewhere that is still servicing these independently. I might have to contact Sekonic as a last resort. Thanks for the suggestion.

Sekonic may be able to supply a list of authorized repairers.
I'll save Sirius the trouble - KEH may be another possibility.

Is it the spotmeter that reads incorrectly, the incident meter, or both? I once had to open up my L-758DR after a very short fall in its case (stupid hip-belt case slipped off my belt).

Turns out there is a circuit board plug and I only had to plug it back in.

There's only a handful of screws holding it together.

Thanks for sharing your experience, Bill. I forgot to mention, it is the spotmeter that is reading incorrectly. Incident meter seems to be fine. In my case, I have never dropped it. It was working fine and was not in use for a couple of months. Started acting weird when I took it out for a shoot. Most readings show E.o or E.u when reading in normal daylight, even when pointed at a gray card. If I don't find anyone to service it, I might open it up and see if something has come loose.

Good point about Sekonic. I will send an email to KEH to see if they can service it. I forget they are a repair facility also. Thanks.

I think that was my experience. It’s a rectangular computer board type plug that connects the sensor to the computer. When unplugged of course it’s reading E.u

I do recall that after George at QLM retired I noticed that Spectra Cine mentioned on their website that they would service many different brands, not just their own.
Please let us know what you find out.

I sent an email to Spectra Cine, haven't received a response yet. I will post my findings here when I hear back.
