Sekonic L398 slides: when to use them?

While cleaning the storeroom, I found a Sekonic L398, with its slide set like this (picture is not mine):

I'm curious when to use these slides, though. There are indeed some mentions about the slides in the manual, but it is not stated clearly when to use them.
Any enlightenment is appreciated.

The optional (1 to 11) direct reading slides are useful if you want to calculate the aperture quickly without having to use the calculator dial. It is most commonly used in cine where there is often a set shutter speed.

Ah I see. So for the usual reading, no need to use the slides, yes?

Correct. They are most useful for cine cameras with set shutter speeds such as 1/60 per second at 25 fps to get a direct aperture readout. However still cameras have no set shutter speeds so using the dial one can see a variety of speeds/stops combinations.

If the location is excessively bright and the meter needle deflects beyond scale, insert the High slide

Just realised that High slide is missing. I took same pictures on bright, day light using slide #11, and the result looks like underexposed 1 stop.

If I set the shutter speed 1 stop lower, the image would probably be exposed properly. That chart seems to confirm my idea.
Time to shoot another roll, I guess.
