Sekonic L358 1 degree spot attachment

I am thinking of buying the 1 degree spot attachment for my L358 I would appreciate hearing from someone who uses one what they are like in use with this meter.

Why? Last I looked the things are expensive. You're better off selling the 358 and putting the money towards a new 558.

The 358 is great. I love it but I wouldn't spend the cost of the add on do hickey. With luck you can sell your 358 for a good price and the added money the 1 degree attachment would cover the upgrade to the 558.

I used to have a L358 just like you, I thought about buying the 1 degree spot attachment, instead I sold the meter for almost what I paid and bought a used L558 in great condition for about the same amount it would have been to get the L358 and the 1 degree attachment. Plus the L558 is an all in one, so I don't have to worry about losing the 1 degree attachment.

The reason I want the 1 degree spot attachment for the 358 is that the L555, and 758D together with the Gossen Starlite can't take general reflected readings only spot ones, and I would like to have both facilitys .

The 1º for the L-358 is not quite as sensitive as the 5º spot attachment. So if you wanted to use one often under low light levels, then the 5º would work better. If you want to use this mostly in daylight condition, then the 1º is better.

The attachment is almost as big as the meter. Very little chance of losing one. They don't weigh much, though the spot attachments add a little bulk when packing. Sekonic also have a larger bag that will carry the L-358 and one spot attachment.

Thanks for your comments Gordon, I will be using it mainly in daylight and I think I'll go for the1 degree, I had no idea it was so big It's very difficult to get an impression of the size looking at pictures on the internet, and there's nowhere local I can get to see one, my local pro dealer where I bought my L358 can order me one, but I would have to pay for it up front, so it's very useful to have the advice of someone who has hands on experience.
The reason I went for the L358 in preference to the L758 is I would miss the ability to take general reflected readings, and with the right accessory finder you can have 1, 5 or 15 degrees , the L758 only has 1 degree reflected spot reading .
