Just got a Sekonic L-438 View Spot Meter from you-know-where, and I am amazed at how easily it operates, how nicely the slide calculator functions, and how neatly it fits into my shirt pocket. However...I tested it against my L-208 by comparing readings against a solid-color wall, and I find it is off by 2-stops. One repair site charges 5 times as much money to service the instrument as what I paid for it. So since I have nothing much to lose, I'd like to disassemble the unit and turn an adjusting screw (or whatever) to bring it back to the proper reading (I am assuming the error is linear--I'll confim that tomorrow morning with some additional comparisons). Can it be done--has anyone out there done this procedure?
