Screwed up some Pan F+ Today

So today I took advantage of the nice weather and went for a hike, and brought along a roll of pan F+, which I had intended to shoot at EI 32 since I like the look that gives. Well, somehow I wound up shooting almost half the roll at 2x compensation. My initial thought was to develop as thorough it was shot at EI 12 or so, but that’s still 2x over the box speed. Do you think there is any way I can save this film?

Oh my gosh, just develop it normally. You probably will get excellent results. I always advocate for shooting film at 2/3 stop + compensation You just added 1/3 stop on top of what I think works best. The fact you shot it at x2 will give you excellent results. Do it all the time and just use film at it's rated speed when you need to for the f/stop and shutter speed.

So you overexposed by two stops from the box speed, assuming I have understood you correctly? Many shoot it at EI 25 with great results so you could consider it to be only one stop over. If that is the case I see no problem at all. If you develop it yourself. Ilford gives times for EI 25 and I'd use those.

I guess there’s not a while lot to lose on trying it normally, I’ll give it a try. If it winds up good I very well might continue, Pan F is a superb film. Thanks!
Also I should have been more clear, it wound up being exposed at ISO 6.

Your 2x compensation is only one stop -- twice normal exposure, EI 25 (on film that's normally rated at ISO 50 -- EI 16 if you had the meter set at EI 32). If it were marked as +2, it'd be two stops, or EI 8 -- which is getting a little hot for even a negative film.

You could cut your development by 15% or so and do no harm, but it's very likely you'll get printable negatives with normal development.

I think you can get 8 stops out of pan f (?) and youve overexposed by 2 stops (and perhaps a bit more if yr shutter is running slow, as can often happen and/or your metering technique isnt dead on, and mine never is)
So your scenes are probably going to need be a max of 5 stops before youre finding yourself on the shoulder. Its not giving much room for manoeuvre.

I personally would cut development by 15% just to make sure im not hitting the shoulder.
