I bought a couple of rolls of bulk film from them almost a year ago.

I open up a 100 foot roll of efke KB25 and it has a scratch on the film throughout the roll. I made sure it's not the bulk loader that's scratching the base.

After sending them an email I'm curious if they'll replace it.

What do you think? Do you have any experiences with freestyle exchanging stuff after 30 day return period?

Thanks

Andrey

You should be able to condemn or exonerate the bulk loader by pulling the roll of film out of it, unrolling a long enough piece of film that the loader couldn't have ever touched it, snipping that film off and looking at it.
Almost a year? I'd say it would be pretty gracious of them to take it back after that long.
At one point I bought several boxes of paper from a local supplier, and found many months after I'd bought it that there was a dark line in the emulsion on half the sheets in one of the boxes. I showed some finished prints to the salesperson, who offered to take it back, but I didn't see much point; I'd already used a good part of the box, didn't have the receipt, and would've had to drive a long way. So good of them!

That's the first thing I did... after having three rolls with a scratch in the same place.

I have no idea about the legal situation in the USA.

But in principle one should distinguish with products in general between a fault that establishes (not: is noticed) itself within some time after the sale, an issue that is related to longevity, and a fault which is inherent to the product from the beginning; the product from the beginning not having the claimed features.

The latter is the case with your three rolls.

Well, all's well that ends well.

I will be shopping at freestyle again and again. Totally satisfied and they stand behind the stuff they sell.
