hello

Is the xenon line of schneider lenses even worth looking at? I can't find any info on these lenses. I'm considering the 35mm lens for printing 16x20.

cheers
david

David, Sounds to me like you will probably want a Schneider enlarging lens (maybe a Wide Angle Componon)?

My Schneider Xenon lenses are all camera lenses.

thanks Tom & Henrik

I couldn't find any info on Xenon enlarger lenses either. However, this is the lens I found on Ebay: 27716623_o.jpg I tried hyperlinking to Ebay page but no luck. Anyway, click on this small pic and you can see that it's a Xenon enlarger lens. Perhaps, these were originally not sold in N. America?
I passed on the auction realizing that the thread mount was not the right size. But with the schneider name, these must be decent lenses?

thanks
david

David, the Xenon you found is probably a good lens but it may not be suitable for enlarging 35mm originals.

Take a look at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schneider_Kreuznach

This is almost certainly a c-mount lens for video cameras. I sincerely doubt that it will cover a 35 mm frame for anything other than very small prints, and not well even then.

They make good loupes though.
