I'm thinking of splashing on a Schneider 90 Super Angulon XL. I want to shoot B&W and transparencies. Robert White suggests a IVa center filter.
To complicate matters I would like to use my Lee filters with this setup. I was thinking of getting a push on Lee holder. Without the centre filter a 100mm push on Lee adaptor is fine. Trouble is that centre filter is flared outwards to 115 mm (filter thread 112 mm) and that means you cannot use your 100 mm Lee push on filter holder and the centre filter at the same time. So I could get a 115 mm push on holder, but if I want to use without the centre filter it's no use. I don't really want to buy two Lee filter holders of different dimensions (I've already got a regular one.) So.... I think my questions are:
1. Do I need a centre filter? How bad is the light fall off on the 90?
2. Do I need the centre filter for both B&W and Velvia?
3. Has anybody used Lee filter holder with the 90 and a centre filter - is it practical or a PITA?
4. Any other ideas before my head explodes....
Colin
PS. I am using 4x5.
