Sold Schneider 240mm f9 G-Claron Copal 1 - Dagor type! - $375

I'm selling my beloved Dagor type 240mm G claron. This lens stopped down to f22 and beyond has great coverage on 8x10--stopped down to f64 the lens has plenty of movements--I've never run out of coverage photographing landscapes.

The shutter is in perfect working condition.
Glass is pretty clean overall--no scratches, however, the rear cell does have something going on. I have attached a close up photo showing what I'm talking about--to me it doesn't look like fungus or separation--maybe somebody wiser than me can chime in on what exactly it is. There has never been an issue with rendering clear, sharp images though--I've attached a couple of unmanipulated 8x10 contact prints made with this lens to show how sharp and clear it is.
The front threads are slightly bent, so I've left a 46mm to 52mm step up ring on with a 52mm Nikon lens cap. The rear lens cap is the original Schneider.
Lens is mounted on a square lens board approximately 5 1/4" wide--not entirely sure what board this is, maybe a Wisner?

Sorry; but I already have one of those. The tiny amount of mounting cement failure in the rear perimeter is called "Schneideritis", and has no effect on images. And the lens is probably plasmat construction, not dagor-style, since it is a late model which covers 8X10.

Hmm. The serial number makes the lens a dagor type. Schneider claims that at f/22 the 240/9 dagor type G-Claron covers 319 mm. You've said many times, Drew, that Schneider's coverage claims are conservative and that G-Clarons cover more than claimed.

Thanks, Drew for the Schneideritis tip--I knew I had seen something about that in the past but could not remember exactly what it was called or what the exact issue was.

And from what I understand, it is these earlier models that are the dagor type--the ones less than ~ 12 xxx xxx or so. The other give away is the smaller filter size--this one is 46mm vs the newer plasmats which are 52mm.

Don't know it it's appropriate to debate on a sales thread or not. But it's the late Copal shutter that makes me question. Possibly a remount; and the officially paired plasmat lens cells for that shutter, according to my spec sheets would have had 52mm fiter thread, not 46. So ...? Whatever. Makes no difference. It's going to be a great little lens for someone, regardless. I'd buy it myself if I didn't already have a back up lens in that focal length.

I don't mind the debate, as I want anyone potentially interested to be sure of what they would be purchasing. Maybe Jim Galli will see this and lay down the definitive answer, but in the meantime, I'm going to steal a quote from Jim on one of his recent Dagor G Clarons sales...
"The earliest G-Clarons were actually same era and quality as the celebrated Gold Dot Schneider Dagor's made by Kern. But this is only a small fraction of the cost of those lenses. You sacrifice 2/3 of a stop to save a thousand bucks. Quality is the same."

But you're right, Drew. This one was definitely remounted onto the newer Copal shutter. An older dagor type, mounted in a newer Copal shutter--a match made in 8x10 heaven.

Thanks for explaining this Sherlock Holmes mystery. A remount makes perfect sense. But owning a Kern 14 inch Dagor (also marketed by Schneider, and now reselling at absurdly high prices), I can't understand why you're letting this go. But it will indeed make someone else happy.
