Scannex Anti-Newton-Spray vs. Kami SXL 2001

.....as some may know I haven't nailed wet mounting yet on my drum scanner (not having a mounting station doesn't help does it) and I was wondering whether this Scannex Anti-Newton-Spray is a better alternative for me, instead of the Kami SXL 2001 i mean....

....i was thinking about it and I thought to myself what if they had like a spray that you spray on the drum cylinder where you mount film and it somehow takes out newton rings when you mount film over it......

i wonder if this is it?

SX 2001 / Scannex Anti-Newton-Spray

The Product:
Graphic Arts Scanner Mounting Spray for transparencies and reflective artwork, c-prints. Recommended for enlargements of up to 400 %. Immediately eliminates any newton ring effects and grain formation. SX Scannex is a petroleum and resin based aerosol. Propellent: Propane, Butane, NON-FLUOROCARBON. It is non-toxic, non-carcinogenic, however, highly flammable. Compliance to OSHA Standards, EPA aspproved.

The Application:
Shake well before applying. Either spray evenly and directly to contact side of transparency from a distance of 15“ to 20“ – use little – apply just a fine mist, or better yet, spray SX Scannex in the air and pull transparency or c-print through the misty air. Let it dry for approx. 2 minutes and proceed to scanner drum mounting as ussual. After usage, turn can up-side down and clear the inside tube, hence preventing nozzle clogging with resin particles. All residue of SX Scannex can easily be removed with a few drops of DRL Transparency-Cleaner.

This sounds like just a regular anti newton spray. As stated, don't go over 400% in scanning or you will see the particles in the spray.
I would never use it for film as the particles can scratch the emulsion.

Try putting your mounting fluid i.e. Kami SMF in a spray bottle. Here is my procedure:
Tape the top of the mylar to the drum (make sure its square), spray a few times between the mylar and the drum.
Place the cleaned film in and square it up. Then spray the top and bottom of the film until covered but not to much.
Then tape the bottom edge by placing a piece of tape on the middle and pulling it taught.
Seal the left and right and use a rubber roller (brayer in a art store) to remove the air bubbles.
Use a scanner wipe saturated with film cleaner to remove any stragglers.
Then seal the bottom edge and you should be good to go after cleaning it.
