i have been using a refurb epson 4870 for the better part of a decade now and while i love it,
the scanner is starting to act strange so i am thinking of replacing it
with another epson refurb. are there any sleepers out there that might be a good value?
these days i am shooting a lot of trichromes and soon 8x10 ones, so i will need
something that can take that size film.

i ask about a good value because i dont need or want top of the line, ( i have been making large prints made from the 4870 with no issues and it is far from the top ). thanks for your suggestions.

I scan 8x10 with an old 4990 which does a decent job. These might be cheaper than the newer 700 and 750.

thanks for the suggestions. when i get the $$ and my scanner takes the dirt nap i will keep them all in mind.
i downloaded a new "updated" driver and it seems to have cleared up some of the wonkiness
so my fingers are crossed ...
