True, but with any PID you get on/off cycles which cause --- well, chatter! And that can cause, for instance, banding of Iodide in a Br/I emulsion. Ungood.

I've used back pressure.

Finally scanned the plates. The plate from the new batch and from the previous batch were both of the same subject. There's a subtle difference in tonality and the new batch has a finer grain. Kind of a nice improvement. However, I think the emulsion is slightly slower as a result. In general, the batches have been slower lately. I need to check my temperature calibration to ensure I'm not unknowingly running a few degrees cooler than I should be during ripening.

You seem to know a special bit of terminology. May I ask where you got it? I don't remember posting or seeing that on-line.

Anyhow, the "White Stick" is the plated Silver rod or billet used for measuring vAg. It is placed in the kettle and remains there during pptn.
